One person, fully accountable

I'm Alejandro, the owner of VentSafe Solutions. Every job is done by the owner. No subcontractors, no rotating crews, no upselling. When you call, I answer. When you book, I'm the one who shows up. If something isn't right, there's no dispatcher to route you to — you talk to the person who did the work.

That's deliberate. Most of the complaints people have about home services come from the gap between who sells the job and who performs it. Removing that gap removes most of the problem.

Why this business exists

In April 2011 my house in Houston burned down. The cause was lint inside a dryer vent that had not been cleaned in years, the same thing I now spend my days removing from other people's homes. Thankfully my sister got her kids out in time, but sadly we lost two dogs. That is not a marketing angle, it is just what happened, and it is the reason I do this work instead of something easier.

Where the standards come from

I served in the Navy, and the habits carried over: be early, bring the right equipment, follow the procedure, verify the result, clean up after yourself. Dryer vent work rewards that kind of discipline — it's not complicated, but it's easy to do halfway and impossible for a homeowner to tell the difference from the outside.

Which is exactly why I measure airflow before and after and send you the photos. You shouldn't have to take my word for it.

What I won't do

• Quote one price on the phone and a different one in your laundry room
• Invent problems, or use scare tactics to sell work you don't need
• Push a "membership plan" for a service you need roughly once a year
• Subcontract your job to whoever happened to be available
