Dryer Vent Cleaning in El Cajon

El Cajon sits in a valley, and anyone who has spent a summer here knows what that does to the temperature. It matters more for your dryer than people realize. A dryer works by pulling in air, heating it, and pushing the moisture out. When the air it starts with is already ninety-five degrees, the machine has less room to work with, runs longer, and runs hotter.

Add a restricted vent on top of that and you get the worst combination there is — a machine already straining, with nowhere for the heat to go. This is the part of the county where I most often hear the same complaint: the dryer is hot to the touch and the laundry room feels like an oven.

Most of the housing here is single-story ranch from the fifties through the seventies, with the vent running through the attic or the crawlspace rather than straight out a wall. Attic runs are the ones homeowners never see and rarely think about, and they are also where I find the most buildup, because the duct is long, horizontal, and full of joints.

Fletcher Hills and Granite Hills bring in more two-story homes and longer runs, and out toward Rancho San Diego the newer tracts have the upstairs laundry rooms you see elsewhere in East County.
