Dryer Vent Cleaning in San Diego
Every neighborhood was built in a different decade, and it shows in the ductwork.

The City of San Diego is not one housing market, it is about a dozen, and the decade a neighborhood was built in tells me more about your vent than the address does.
In the older central neighborhoods — North Park, South Park, Golden Hill, Normal Heights, Kensington — you have Craftsman bungalows and Spanish homes from the twenties and thirties. Laundry was added later, ducts were routed after the fact, and I find some unusual solutions. Short runs, but often with an elbow or two more than they needed.
Clairemont, Allied Gardens and Tierrasanta are the postwar and midcentury tracts. Single-story, attic runs, straightforward jobs, and very often original ductwork that nobody has ever touched.
Mira Mesa, Rancho Peñasquitos and Rancho Bernardo bring in the seventies and eighties housing, plus a large amount of condo and townhome stock. Shared-wall units are where I find the longest neglected runs, because the vent passes through space no individual owner thinks of as theirs.
Downtown and the newer high-rises are a different animal entirely — many of those buildings use shared or booster-assisted vent systems, and what can be done depends on the building. Call me before you book if you are in a high-rise and I will tell you honestly whether it is a job I can do.
Point Loma and Ocean Beach add the coastal factor, same as La Jolla: corroded exterior hoods and more moisture in the line.
What I typically find in San Diego
- Retrofitted laundry rooms in 1920s central neighborhoods
- Untouched original attic runs in Clairemont and Allied Gardens
- Long shared-wall runs in Mira Mesa condos and townhomes
- Salt corrosion on hoods in Point Loma and Ocean Beach
- Shared or booster-assisted systems downtown — call first
