Frequently Asked Questions
The things people ask before they book. Anything missing, just call.
How long does a dryer vent cleaning take?
A standard cleaning runs about an hour. Longer runs, rooftop terminations, and blockage removal take closer to two. I book realistic windows rather than stacking jobs, so I am not rushing to get to the next one.
Do I need to be home?
Yes, at least to let me in and to be there at the end so I can walk you through what I found. You do not need to hover — most people work or handle things around the house while I am there.
How much mess does this make?
Effectively none. Everything runs through a HEPA vacuum with drop cloths down. The whole point of the equipment is that the lint ends up in the vacuum rather than on your floor.
What if you find something worse than expected?
I stop and show you a photo before doing anything else, along with a price. You can approve it, decline it, or get a second opinion. You are never charged for work you did not agree to.
How often should I have this done?
Once a year is the standard manufacturer recommendation. Go more often with a big household, pets, or a vent run over 25 feet. If you have never had it done, that is the strongest reason to book.
Do you clean the dryer itself?
I clean the lint trap housing and the transition duct behind the dryer as part of every job. Full disassembly of the dryer cabinet is appliance repair work, which is a different trade.
How do I pay?
Whatever is easiest for you. Card, cash, check, Zelle or Venmo — all fine. Nothing is charged when you book and there is no deposit; you pay once the work is done and you have seen it. If you would rather pay by card, I text you a link and you tap it whenever suits.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel or reschedule any time up to a few hours before with a phone call — no fee, no hassle. Things come up. I would rather move the appointment than have you sit through one you did not want.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, fully insured. If anything is damaged during the work, that is on me, not on you.
Do you service condos and apartments?
Yes. Shared-wall units frequently have the longest and most neglected vent runs around. I can coordinate access with an HOA or property manager if needed.
Will you text me before you arrive?
You get a text when you book, a reminder the day before, and an on-my-way message with an ETA the day of.
What if my airflow does not improve?
Then I come back and re-clean it at no charge. The before-and-after readings make that easy to settle — the numbers are either better or they are not.
