Dryer Vent Cleaning in Chula Vista

Chula Vista is really two cities as far as dryer vents are concerned, and which half you live in changes what I find.

West of the 805 you have the older side — postwar single-story homes and bungalows around Third Avenue, Castle Park and the neighborhoods off Broadway. Short vent runs, usually straight out a side wall, which sounds like good news. The catch is age. A lot of these homes still have the original ductwork, and if nobody has ever cleaned it, thirty or forty years of lint has had time to pack in solid. I also find flexible vinyl duct behind the dryer in these houses more often than anywhere else I work. Vinyl is not code and it burns.

East of the 805 is a completely different job. Eastlake, Otay Ranch, Rancho del Rey and Millenia are two-story tract homes built from the nineties onward, and the builders put the laundry room upstairs. That means the vent runs up through the wall and out the roof — often thirty feet or more with several elbows. Every bend is a place lint collects, and a run that long simply cannot be cleaned properly from the dryer end with a brush kit off the shelf.

If you are in the east side tracts, the deep clean is usually the right service. If you are west of the 805 in a single-story home, the standard cleaning almost always covers it. I will tell you which one you need before I start, not after.
