Dryer Vent Cleaning in La Mesa

La Mesa has some of the oldest housing I work on, and the Village is the clearest example. Those Craftsman bungalows and Spanish cottages from the twenties and thirties were not built with a modern dryer in mind. The laundry hookup was added later, often into a converted porch or a back room, and the vent was routed wherever it could go. I find some genuinely creative ductwork in these houses.

Up on the hillsides — Mt. Helix, the streets climbing above the Village, parts of Grossmont — the homes are frequently split-level or built into the slope. That puts the laundry on a different level from the nearest exterior wall, which means a long run, sometimes terminating on the roof. Those are the jobs where a proper rotary brush and vacuum earn their keep.

Then there is the condo and apartment stock along Fletcher Parkway, near Grossmont Center and around Lake Murray. Shared-wall units usually have the longest and most neglected vent runs in the county, because there is no obvious owner of the problem. The one thing all three have in common is age. If you own a home in La Mesa and cannot remember the vent ever being cleaned, assume it has not been.
